clutch? tranny? something else?
hey everyone, here's the deal, I have a t5 tranny, with (from what I was told) a 2 year old clutch (got replaced before I bought it) I just installed a pro 5.0 shifter a few months back.....now onto my problem
About a month ago I noticed that while in 5th gear at lower rpms, (car is stock with stock gears, no posi) whenever I would give it gas with the pedal about halfway or more down, the rpms would start to increase, while the speed wouldnt ( as if something was 'slipping')....Of course this was only occasionally and thus I figured it might be something to do with my carb...however everything seems fine there
Now to the present.....the 'slipping' situation has gotten so bad that I experience it in 3rd, 4th and 5th gears all through 2000-3000 rpm (roughly) and sometimes even in 2nd! I hope I was clear with my problem, and you experts can help me out, because I was only told by a few that it's probably a bad clutch
again when I hit the gas pedal (about halfway or more) the rpms will rise and the speed will rise only minimally (less than what they should for the amount of gas Im giving the car) It's almost as though the car was in neutral the way the rpms will shoot up....however I know it is very solid in gear, because if I let off the gas I can accelerate with ease. Please help this is quite an annoyance!!!!
