Is something gonna break?

Sometimes when i drive slow i leave it in first gear cuz it sounds cool in the higher RPM's (only around 2500RPM) and then when i floor it there is a fairly loud pop that seems to come from the transmission. Any ideas what it could be? It almost sounds like its gonna drop out or something. Only does it when its in 1st gear and really getting on it.

it is definately that man. I had that happen a few weeks ago and it sounded like the freakin thing was going to come up through the floor. But replace that and your problems will be solved.

It's basically raising the tranny a little bit and loosening the 4 bolts I think there is under there that hold the tranny mount in place. It isnt hard at all to do. It actually one of the easier jobs on these cars. The bolts are right there...you cant miss em. GL

I was at the shop today for a brake inspection and i had them look at the tranny mount and they said its fine. Im wondering if its the driveshaft yoke? Could that cause the same problems?

Ignore what they said. Change the transmission mount. It's broken. No, the driveshaft yoke will not cause the transmission to lift up off the crossmember and hit the bottom of the car; which is what the noise you're hearing is.
