correct speedo gears?
Hi, I swapped an 89 350 TPI into an 87 2.8L 'bird. I had electronic speedo but the new tranny ('88) had cable so i swapped the tailshafts. The speedo drive gears looked the same colour so i left them (mistake!). Needless to say, my speedo is off now! the original gears were yellow(41T) and Gray (15T). Is there a difference between the electronics on an 89 ECM compared to my 87 that would cause my speedo to be off? BTW it is the 85MPH speedo in the car. Otherwise, can i just put in the above gears to fix it?
