t56 rear seal leak?
I've had the t56 in for awhile and enjoying every minute of it. Well I noticed the other day some pink-ish small puddle on my drip tray in the garage. I got under the car and it looks like it's coming straight out of the seal around the driveshaft. I haven't been able to take the shaft out to see what's up though. Does anyone know if the seal back there is an easy replace? or where to get one?

the seal is easy to replace, it looks funny because it has a sleeve over it that extends onto the driveshaft.. a replacement from an auto parts store will just look like a standard seal..
to get the old one off just cut the rubber around the seal to be able to see what you are doing then deform the seal by hitting it in at the edge with a screwdriver and your hammer of choice to get it out.. be careful not to gouge the aluminum of the tranny.. uh too much..
the new seal can be seated with a huge socket or piece of pipe to get the new seal in the empty seat or you can gradually tap it in with the handle end of a screwdriver.. voila, done..
Take a good look and ensure that is where it is leaking before you begin though.. they can leak other places as well..

Well the seal was only a 1.99 at autozone so I bought it thinking it can't hurt to replace. Will see if that fixes it.
