now whats wrong with my tranny

This is what reminds me why i hate automatic transmissions..

well all of a sudden while in drive going up hill in drive, the engine revs when i press the gas pedal, same with overdrive.

1st and 2nd gears work fine, but 3rd and 4th i just rev. if i mash the gas in those gears i feel the car catch just a tiny bit of the gear but its all just reving.

i pulled over popped the hood and the fluid lvl is fine, in fact it seems over the limit of full.

also i see light smoke, which obviously is atf, but none is leaking under the car.

what is going on? could the cable not be aligned or is this stupid auto dead and time for me to swap to a manual?

You lost the 3-4 clutch pack, which is common on these units. Time for a rebuild. With what I do to these transmissions, 3-4 clutch pack problems are non existent. If I can be of help, let me know?
