89 Camaro rs build up
Hi im new to the boards i just purchased a 89 camaro rs 305 5speed with t tops its has a 10 bolt rear end in it and im building a 350 i have at home for it this winter im gonna be running around 425-450hp andwas aondering what upgrades i should do to the trans to amke sure it can handle that much power and be drivin to the track and run it on the weekends im going to tighten up the limited slip in the rear end so its tight enough that it dosent ever slip (my dad did the same in his chevelle) and run a 3:42 or 3:73 in the back but ould any one help me on what i shpould do to the trans and any sites i could find parts on thanks

The stock T5 trans will handle more than most people give them credit for if you don't just dump the clutch at high rpms or ****** it into gear like I am bad about doing but the best way to make sure it will stay there is to rebuild it with G-Force gears[URL=http://www.g-forcetransmissions.com]

jesus people..the lt1 t56 is officially rated at 450ft lbs, which everyone and their dog knows is conservative. the point is he wont break it.
If you want to get really technical the viper box is rated at 550. Thats less than the vette makes, which just shows the numbers are conservative.

ok so should i build up my t-5 or swap a t-56 whats gonna be more cost effective mind you im a 16 year old kid
your 16? will this engine really have 450hp? have you driven a 450hp car? If your going to beat the snot out of it at the track go with the t56. Its cheaper, and a better solution than upgrading the t5
T56 definately.....all i know is you better learn how to respect that car...i'm 17, and it doesn't take much to spin em out into a tree or something....450 is a bit much for a kid, and rather unpractical i might add..
