I have a problem, a big one. my shift and junk is all in it's place. but my cable that pushes the tranny lever into the gear (like reverse, drive etc.), it bends right before it gets to park, it can get into reverse, but bends as soon as it trys getting into park. i think the motion going to park is too stiff, but idk. any help?

 

First things first, do it manually and make sure it does shift into park. Then if it does, get a new shifter cable.

 

Nothing for excitement like starting the engine with the shifter in Park and the tranny in Reverse.

New shifter cable, ~$60 from Chevy dealer. Shifter never felt better.
