manual shifting an auto
Hey all,
I did a bit of racing yesterday and noticed that I can really go if I manualy shift as the 700R4 likes to shift out of 1rst at about 2000 which really causes a loss of power.
I was wondering...does manually shifting a 700R4 cause premature damage to the transmission? I know its not recomended to do it with the auto tranny in the Tempo but I figured the TransAm's Tranny should be able to suck it up.

I can downshift at will now, I don't have the TV cable adjusted properly(it is connected to the bracket though) so i can't rely on it kicking down, but whats the point when i can shift it myself?
if you do that, pay attention to how fast you're going when u want to downshift, just like a stick.
Nothing like going 70 and shifting into 1st to blow something up.
I don't have the secondaries working on my holley yet, but it kicks really well. For 30 bucks, I like it
Can't wait to get a tune on her, it'll light things up like nothing compared to the LG4.

Are you speaking of dropping it into 1 and then full throttle until a specific rpm and then shifting into second then third and fourth? This should be ok as long as you aren't red lining the motor......by the way that badger badger is great!!! LMAO I could watch that site for hours at a time.....

I didn't go w/ the transgo because 1) the B&M kit was cheaper and fit the budget i had already went overboard on and 2) I head out to MCRD in a lil over 8 months, so i won't need my car for a while, and when i do come back for it, I'll look for a T56
Just gonna take care of mine for now, until it passes on
