83 Fbody Posi interchanging
ok im off to the local pick apart this week to find a posi and 3.73 gears for my maro. So far i know im looking for a 26 spline unit,Does anyone know which other vehicles these came in so i might have a better chance of finding one?
Any advice on which to get and which to stay away from?

The only vehicles that are likely to have what you're looking for, are 10-bolt Camaro/Firebird from about 85 or 86 to 88.
Parts from S trucks, G bodies, and some B bodies, will interchange. However these vehicles usually either had no posi, often had 2-series gears, and (in the case of the trucks), if they did have posi, it was the Gov-Lock. You don't want a Gov-Lock under any circumstances. The S trucks do however have good gears in them alot of the time; esp. 4WD ones. MC SSs also had 3.73s almost exclusively, but rarely had posi.

Woohoo found posi,not govloc.$46cdn at local yunk yard in a caprice.If ya look under the trunk lid where the put the options tag look for a G80 code.
