I have a 85 trans am 5.0 tpi with the 700r4 it has a shift kit (I'm not sure what brand). I am having trouble from the 2 to 3 shift. It seems like it is slipping. It happens under moderate accelration. However under full throttle it seems to be ok. 1 to 2 still feels fine I can spin the tires between 1 and 2. 3rd to OD is also fine.
So basically I would like to know it the tranny bad (I think it may be)or is it something else? How long do I have before everything goes?(I put less than 1000 mi a year) How much is a rebuild? The car and tranny have 60,000. I only drive it on nice days so I kinda drive it hard.
