Car: 1982 t top,,z/28,

Engine: 409ci vortec

Transmission: all steel t700r4,1300 stall yahooooooooooo

gearbox cable to steering lock

cant get key out,,,,new column fitted,,,adjusted cable at the shifter end,,,,,,,,,,,,pulled the tab up on the cable adjuster turned the steering column,put the cable back on ,, still gearbox is locked in park,,,,,,cant get the keys out,,,,,,,,,,,of the steering column,,please i need help,,,BIG TIME,,,,i need this car to drive in 24 hours,,,,,,there must be some ,,PROPPER adjustment,,,somehow,,,,the steering column seems to not turn 100% to the lock possition,,,,AUSTRALIA

I really haven't dickered with the f-body columns much, but does the "bowl" part the steering column (about 20cm from the top) move when you shift from P to D? If so, hand rotate it so the keys come out. G'luck.
