I thought that it was a TH200-4R but i was working on my E-brake and the pan on it looks like number 6 but that one is the TH700-R4 and V6's didn't come with that trans or will it even hookup to a V6. the web site i am using for this id is this one http://www.maliburacing.com/auto_tranny_id.htm so what do i have in my car?

The pans can't lie so it is a 700R4, no way it could be a 2004R. Did you stop to think that maybe the manufacturer could possibly make different trans cases for V6 and V8 applications?

what ???
he was replying to the original post on this thread as i am about to
the v6 bellhousing is for a 60 degree engine and the v8 bellhousing is for a 90 degree engine the two will not bolt up to one another no matter how hard you try....
you will infact as ljnowell stated need a v8 transmission to bolt to a v8 and a v6 transmission to bolt to a v6

but i have heard some talk about usung a adaptor plate. will that work? it will only be for temporary until i can afford to buy a new trans.

I have "heard people talk about it too, but I believe its intended useage is the other way around, a stronger v8 trans to a v6. I still think there are other changes that need to be made for it to work though, if it can work at all.
