what gear set to go with?

I'm getting the 2.73's replaced on my car next week and I want to make sure to get the right gear set. I want 3.73's but looking around on this board makes me think it might be a little to high? should I go with 3.42's or 3.73's? also, what will be the concequences of changing to a higher ratio?

You can get lots of info on gears if you use the "search" feature. Most people on here have said that for the 305 TBI the best all around gearing is 3.42. That way you get improved accelleration without sacrificing a ton of gas mileage. The only consequence of changing gears is that you will most likely have to change your speedo gears as well. Good Luck!

Depends on the setup, but if you plan on sticking with a NA L03, I'de go with the 3.73's.
