I have a 87 350TPI Iroc. The car came with disc brakes but has a drum rear in it now(actually it in the floor do to broken pinion gear) The rear now had 2.73 with a posi unit. I purchased a disc brake rear with 2.73 gears and a posi unit. I also have a drum rear from a V6 car with 3.42 gears but it is a non-posi. I want to put the 3.42's in the disc brake rear but to my understanding the 3.42's wont fit in a 2.73 rear without a spacer. My question is can I take the diff. with the 3.42's and put the spider gears along with the springs etc in the open rear from one of the posi units and make it a posi. Any one tried this. Any info would be apprecaited.
