Vibration at high RPM...

I seriously doubt it's a motor thing. Even though it only happens at high rpm (above 5k). My guess is the pilot bearing. Any way to test it w/o pulling the tranny, again.

Thanks.

You sure it's drivetrain related?? Could it be an out of balance tire?? Maybe driveshaft?? Do you notice any difference when the tranny is shifing gears or going into overdrive?? oops sorry just read it again...must be a manual trans!!

The trans is a retrofit T-56 w/ a stage 5 spec clutch. I'm thinking I may have damaged the pilot bearing. The tranny didn't slide in perfect and I used the bolts to draw it up to the motor.

When I jack the car up and put it in gear, the rear tires still turn even w/ the cluch in. It's a new clutch, and thow out bearing. The tires turn slowly, but they still turn.

The car is also a little hard to shift.

you may have damaged something. Never draw the trans up to the block by tightening the bolts. Trans should beable to be pushed up against the block by hand.

Ya, I know. I was getting a little frustrated after wrestling w/ it for 4 hours. I just figured that the disc was a little out of alignment, but I guess not.
