9-bolt Weight Compared to 10-bolt

Is there any weight difference between 9 and 10-bolts?

I don't have numbers but I can assure you that my 9 bolt just about made me rupture a disc when I was putting it into hatch area for the ride home from the yard! The center section is a good chunk of cast iron. Made the old 10 bolt look like it was made out of cardboard. Not that the 9 bolt is all too impressive with a 7.75 ring gear, but that is weight you WANT to have. One of the 10 bolt's main weaknesses is the wimpy housing that likes to flex. In conclusion, the 9 bolt is heavier.

I was going to say the same thing. the 10 bolt seemed fairly easy to lift but, the 9 bolt seem much heavier. actual differance may only be 10 lbs if that but, feels like more
