WC T-5 grind in first gear???
WC T-5 grind in first gear???
I put an '88 Camaro WC T-5 into a hotrod I built, mated up to a 350. When I took it out of the Camaro, it seemed to shift fine, however now when I shift from 1st to 2nd (at higher revs) it grinds a little before going in. A mechanic friend of mine says that's the trans' problem and it should be taken apart. I'm not sure because I feel I would have noticed it in the Camaro!
Any thoughts?
ps: New clutch, press. plate, TO bearing and hydraulic clutch MC.

Sounds like a synchro going bad. Before you put it in second, try putting it in neutral and let off the clutch then put it in second. If you hear no grinding, its probably the synchro.

Problem is....it only grinds when I'm shifting at higher RPM. If I take time to double clutch, I'd have no problem.
Thanks
