hey guys, i was wondering if you could help with a weird problem...i have a 4 spd auto 700R4 in my '90 camaro. it shifts perfectly when it's in the normal drive/OD position, but when i put it in to 1st, 2nd, or 3rd...it grinds and loses power. by that, i mean it doesn't have any throttle response...it's just weird. any suggestions? i was thinking maybe a shift kit + corvette servo might take care of that problem short of getting a new tranny. good idea? bad idea? thanx for the help everyone!

 

Putting a shift kit in the trans definately wont fix that problem. I would look into fixing the issue before I did any performance modifications.

 

you might want to check the tourqe converter.

 

yeah i was thinking about wating for the shift kit & servo just in case i put those in and had to get a new tranny. but would you think the converter would be the problem? it that a common symptom for a bad converter? how would i check the converter also...thanx!

 

to be honist it would just make sence but im no expert ...if the trans is shifting well but theres no power sounds like the converter..just do some research on the internet...sorry i couldnt help more.
