Anyone look into buying one of these tail shaft replacements. Really intresting but kinda pricey.

You could do a 4+3 from a Vette for less $ & less floorboard fitment issues. Those are a Super T-10 which are strong, strong, and the 86-88 overdrivers aren't TV cable controlled, and do well; the earlier ones with TV cable had more issues.
or T56.
The GV OD units are good and work but you're right; for the $ there are other choices.

true, but where woul you find a 4+3 from a vette? that's not exactly common around here. i'd rather get the gear vendor because it's simple, straightforward, and has been done countless times with predictable results. and it's good for lots o' power.

Ain't worth the cash IMO. Plus they have a history of grenading in the 50K mile range... fudge that...
