i was all ready to order new 4.10's for my ****ty 10-bolt and i was looking at the catalogue and saw there was a difference in carriers for the same set of 4.10 gears...

i am using an '88 V6 automatic firebird rear end (7.5" 10 bolt)
can anyone tell me which gears to order as far as carrier goes..??
i was looking at richmonds and i want a 4.10

any help would be great!!!

it depends what gears you have I think 2 series carrier came with 3.08 and numerically lower gears and a 3 series carrier came with 3.23 and numerically higher gears thats why its 2 different gears

 

you need to know what you have to know what to get. you might want to consider standard size gears and a spacer instead of the thicker gear. that would let you use the gear on either carrier.
