383 t5 transmission
anybody put a t5 behind a 383 stroker motor , just curious i dont have the money for a t56 but i do have the money for a t5 conversion
The fact that its a 383 doesn't matter, the T-5 could care less what its behind. It depends on how much power you're putting out and what you plan on doing with the car.
and yes, I've seen it done.

Yep, that sounds like my setup. WC T-5 behind a 400+HP 383, and still holding so far. Although I have to admit I'm careful with it - few burnouts, never shift w/o the clutch, etc....

I hope to see it in person at a Dallas meet sometime--you've done a lot of mods I've been considering and very, very clean.
My rollbar should arrive by truck tomorrow from LA--when I get it installed the local upholstery shop is set to do a traditional hot rod style tuck n' roll/button tuft interior in naugahyde, then I'll get to the mechanicals--already took out the automatic and put in a WC T5 like yours, Moser posi rear end with 3.73's--about to change to 3.23.
I don't know about the stroker though--got a bunch of internally balanced two-piece mainseal stuff around. Hmmm...
