strange rear axle code???????

Car: 1991 Camaro Z-28
Engine: SB 350/holley Carb/ Edelbrock Intake
Transmission: Viper T-56 6 speed
strange rear axle code???????
Can anyone help me decode this rear axle code ...I would like to know any information that you can get out of it "6EW C238 1"... I have looked on quite a few sites and my camaro service manuals unsuccessfully.... i think this might not be the original axle.....
I also found this number casted under the diferential housing what could it mean...."GM N 22522676"
any help would be greatly appreciated.....
