you just want one quart out? the way i used to do it was take one the trans cooler lines off start the engine then shut it off and let it pump out it is really tricky to get just one quart out tho. this way is easy but can be messey and diffecult to get just one quart. another way i have heard about doing it but have never tried is to use a siphon and pull it out of the dipstick tube. other than that i don't know.

Any type of autoparts store should have a sucking type device, it looks almost like a greese gun, its big syringe pretty much. Pull back on the handle at the back of it, and it sucks whatever up. Stick some vacuum line on that a few feet long, pull the dipstick out, and put the line down the tube. Then suck it out. Its really fast and works the best... very little mess. Last one i got was like 10 dollars i think at pepboys

I was thinking siphon too.

I'm surprised no one asked me why I wanted to do this. I really should rule out poor TV cable adjustment before I try to address slippage with a ATF additive. Well... I have sorta done this.

Thanks gents,

What scubas said would work but just so you know when I took my lines off to do a rad swap they where the biggest PITA to get seated properly again. I'd try the siphon method instead.

I've just asked the other day and it's $101 to get a tranny flush at firestone. I'm going to be doing that for my "slippage".

Yeah dude why do want to do that was my first thought

I've had the TV cable adjusted and the slipping still occurs. If you drive *normal* in my car, you'd never notice that the tranny was slipping. I figur I'll try the Lucas anti-slip with as a band-aid repair. Rebuild it likely within a year.

before mine started slipping. I busted a hose on the radiator whilst overtaking a truck on a hill. the guy must off wet himself seeing me billowing steam. well I over heated badly twice!
I think because the fluid in the tranny has a cooler in the rad'.I cooked that fluid as well. Or it was the addtional new fluid I topped it up with that messed it up. or it was setting my timinig back to 4* (it shifted a lot firmer and more definte at 6*).
Who knows

I'm going to get it flushed.
I should look up how to adjust the tv cable. but right now its so cold my hands stick to metal. Thats no fun

I bought a hose and a pump that you connect to your drill, then I stuck the hose down where the dipstick goes, and turned the drill on. Bam.

I put in slick 50 trans fluid and on a quick 5 min spin it seemed to shift a lot fimer and go into gear a lot quicker. I could get the back end to spin a lot easier and the pick up was better.
tommorow is a work day so I'll know for sure on the hills I take.
Also I've seen a lot of places addvertising 700r4 rebuilt for $800..

it's been a few days with the slick 50 in and it's no longer all confused about what gear to go into when I floor it. I've noticed a distinct difference with the additive. saved myself a $100 flush and possible tranny failure :lala:
