I have a 1989 firebird, automatic transmission with 2.8 L engine. When i try to shift into Reverse from Park, i can't, it skips over into Neutral. But when i shift into Reverse from drive it works. I can go into the gear from one way but not the other. Can someone tell me what the problem might be? I thought maybe it might be linkage somewhere, but its odd that i can shift from one direction and not the other. If i messed up my reverse, i shouldn't be able to go from either direction. Please help!
