3rd gen dana 44

Anyone here know what they can take ? I can get one used ..... for cheap . I was wondering if they are any good . I like the bolt in and go feature

I need it to take 5000 rpm dump on slicks with 400-500 hp ( no I dont have that kinda power yet but ......)

Regardless of what you find out, I would buy it anyways, then sell it to me

I'm not sure how much they will handle with slicks. I bet they would be fine up to 500hp without slicks and an auto trans.:shrug:

It'll hold up for a little while, its not the hp that kills it, its the torque and traction.

Oh I hear ya man . I am slowly trying to put together a bullit proof setup ..... The rearend seems to have more of a violent effect if it goes ( spitting an axle ) so I figured I 'd go this route first .....so Dana 44 it is
