someone straighten me out
i have posted about what cars came with a 700 r4 but i need to know the difference in them like the difference in the astroivan and caprice to the trans that is currently in mine

The difference is in the casing. The F body trans has provisions for the torque arm. The B body (caprice, roadmaster) does not. The M and L body (astro RWD and AWD respectivly) has provisions for a transfer case. Other differences like cooler line location, ramdom bracket locations may be present too. Basically the only trans that will fit easily in your F body is an F body trans.

The trans case is just the same, its the tailshaft housing, you can get any other 700R4 you'll just have to put your f body tail housing on if its not from an f body.
