New Trans and Rear questions??
New Trans and Rear questions??
I went to a local performance shop the other day to inquire about installing a new trans.
For $1,900 installdd with a 12,000 mile or 1 year warranty
he would
1. Rebuild my 700r4 with performance upgardes, which could be manually shifted and have a hard shift from 1st-2nd and 2nd 3rd.
And could "take a beating"
2. Inludes a B&M 2400 stall torque converter.
(Before we started chatting, he wanted 1,800 just for the trans rebuild)
Does this sound reasonable? I was gonna order a level 2 bowtie transmissions, but they guy said he couldnt guarantee it would perform properly and couldnt warranty the work. Thsi is about the same price if I had ordered one and had him install it.
Also,
He stripped i belive an 88 or 89 gta, and had a pair of Edelbrock emissions legal shortie headers he wanted $100 for plus install. He said the intsall could range from $100-$400 depending on how diffuclt the install was based on $80 an hour labor.
He also had the rear from that car which was a 9 bolt disk rear with 3.73 gears. He wanted $300 for the rear installed.
I was thinking about getting it all done at once since he was giving me a break on the labor and the parts were relatively cheap.
Any feedback is appreciated as always.
