I'm in the process of gathering materials and money to do a 700R4 to a 4L60E swap in a 92 Camaro.

Does anyone know if my 92 700R4 core would pass as a core for a 4L60E? If not I am looking at about a $400-$600 core charge which puts the cost of the new tranny up in the $1200 range.

i bought a tranny from autozone and gave them an old 700r-4 core for a turbo 350 i bought. If your giving it to a competent tranny guy he might be able to catch you on it.

 

compared to any tranny place that I would buy a trans from... yea, they'll catch you on it.


now if you call them, talk to someone, you can work out the core charge... they may need 700R4s... or they may take it for a diffrent core charge fee... or they will jsut swap em..

but i wouldnt try to be dishonest about it. they'll likely not to give you anything for it.

 

BTW i wasn't dishonest, they were ok with it.
