12 bolt rear

ok here is the deal I am looking to buy a 12 bolt rear end I was wondering if it was possible to get a rear for my camaro 1 inch narrower on each side with the spring and shock mounts in the stock location to accomodate my minitub. If possible do you see any problems I may encounter by doing this?

Just with wheel spacing. 1" narrower may cause an interference problem between the tire and something like the LCA, panhard mount etc.

If you've done all your measurements correctly then everything should fit.

As for cost, it will probably cost you more to order the diff shorter than what it would cost to just use proper backspaced rims. The only advantage to having the diff narrowed that small of amount would be to use rims with less backspace.

My rims are 15 x 10 with 5.5 backspace. I have some identical rims but with 3.5" backspace. Narrowing my diff 2" on each side wouldn't be worth it just to use the different rims.

I've known Tom Watt at Tom's Differentials for over 30 years, and his work is vastly better than Moser's. Try www.tomsdifferentials.com
