83 firebird clutch linkage
Okay I know this car has a cable clutch and not a hydraulic clutch like the newer models. It is really hard to press down the pedal and it has a brand new clutch so im figuring the linkage is screwed up? What do I hafta do to change it and does anybody know where I can buy the parts?(Ive searched for parts for this car and its way harder to find parts for it unlike my stang
Thanks

I would check the z-bar out. Check and see if it ripped apart like mine did. You can buy a new z-bar at the dealer if you need to. You might need to remove the z-bar and check the ball stud and the plastice pieces they ride on. The might need replacing. Those are available at the dealer as well.

When we changed the clutch the linkage seemed intack(not ripped or torn apart) but the clutch pedal was always stiff even with the old clutch. The car drives and it goes into all gears. Isnt there a clutch cable I can buy and install? My mustang clutch linkage is way more simpler, just a simple adj cable to metal quadrant ontop of the clutch pedal under the dash. If anyone can help me out plzz post.

Axle/Gears: ones that turn.
That's odd...my old 83 Camaro didn't require as much effort when it had the mechanical (Z-bar) linkage as when I swapped it over to the hydraulic system.
There must be something binding up somewhere.
