9 bolt carrier....decoding?

9 bolt carrier....decoding?
Ok, I just got a great deal on a new carrier. i just want to make sure its the series 3. What #'s on the carrier tell you?

if it's a great deal for a 9 bolt carrier i wouldn't worry aobut the series, you can always resale it. easiest way to tell is to look at them. do a search here and you'll find pics of the 2 side by side
Casting #'s
I Roc A Z:
Most common "3 series" differential case number:
0578-908-F- 731 fits 3.27 ratios and numerically higher.
Should also be marked with Aust. Patent No. 222888.

By the way, people, the carrier is the casting with the axle tubes pressed and welded into it. What so many of you are calling a carrier, is a differential case.
