700r4 problems....time for rebuild?

Had my tranny rebuilt 60k miles ago because of late shifting. Sometimes I could barely get out of 1st or 2nd gear. Now its starting to have the same problems.

Is 60K mi good for a rebuild?

I'm having a rebuilt engine put in this week, and i think i'm just going to have them rebuild my trans at the same time.

I certainly wouldn't install it without addressing the problem. You might not need a total rebuild with lots of hard parts, but something definitely isn't right.

well i figured the machine shop could pull the tranny at the same time as the engine and take a look. I guess that would be the easiest thing

I would pull the governor form the side of the tranny. And see if thats stuck. Cheap fix if thats the problem.

I'll look into that...thanks. Would it make a difference if i also added that when it does feel like its slipping, its usually after i've been driving around for a while and the tranny gets warm (like after long trips).

Could it still be a stuck governor then also?

Sorry...i wish i knew more about transmissions.
