Rear Axle RPO

My 84 Z28 HO has a rear axle RPO of GT4 I can find this RPO in any data base I have checked. Does anyone have any information on this rear axle?

How do I find the rpo code for my rear axle?Is it one of these?

rpo codes should be on the inside lid of the consol (sp?)

Axle/Gears: 3.23/3.42

The first year for the "SPID label" with all the RPO codes was 1984. If you are lucky you will find the build sheet under a seat cushion or the carpet. Another route would be to obtain the billing invoice from Pontiac Historical Services.

If you crawl under the car and read the axle code that's stamped onto the passenger side axle tube that will also tell you what you have.
