Is this stall converter stock?

88 camaro with a mild TPI 350, 212/212 @ .050 flat tappet cam and flat tops, hedmen full lengths and 3.5" single exhaust. The rest of car is stock including the 2.77 rear gears. Before the car came to me the 700R4 was replaced with what I was told was just a stock Replacement.

Do 700R4's have a loose converter stock? I can foot brake 2400 RPM outa this thing in my shop without even breaking a sweat. Is this normal for a stock 700R4.

My guess someone put a Corvette or 4.3L S10 stall in this thing when the trans was out, what ya think??

Is there anybody out there with a stock 700R4 and TPI 350?
Would you please step on both pedals and read the RPM gauge. Is 2400 RPM flash stall stock?

My stock torque converter is super tight, the most i can get out of it standing on the brakes is 1200.

my stock converter would stall around 900 and my corvette one stalled around 1800. this was behind a moderatly built 305 though.

I've got a 92 Z28 with the 350TPI/700R4 and if I hit the brake and the gas at the same time, it'll go to around 1500 rpm, but the rear tires have a tendency to break loose and spin if I do this. (I figured if I said 5000rpm you'd raise the BS flag on me

Thank you

Thank's I shall not order a stall for this unit then, it seems that it has one. And with a mostly stock TPI 350 I would think 2400 RPM is just right.
