Rearend info clearup
I have a couple of questions...
I have a 10-bolt (unless an IROC with a 305HO and drums came with a 9-bolt.. hehe).. Now, i'm pretty sure its a 7.5", but i came across a website that was selling differential covers and they said 7.5 for V6 and 8.5 for V8. Im sure they are wrong, but it would suck if they werent... lol, cause im buying all my rearend parts this week.
Also, what spline would i have? 26/28/30?
And does anyone know of a good strengthened and girdled differential covers?
Thanx!

there are two sizes of ten bolts, as you have discovered. to add to the confussion GM changed how they ID the one in 3rd gen f bodys from 7.5 to 7.62, same thing differant name. you have a 7.5/7.62 ten bolt if you have a 3rd gen f body. 89 was transition year from 26 to 28
