Input housing air test has hissing
Has anyone else done the air test on their input drum housing after replacing the pistion seals? When I test the hole second from the end of the shaft (between the white teflon seals) I can hear some hissing when ~35 psi is applied. All other air tests on this drum seem good (no hissing). I believe this is the Forward clutch set.
I already went out and bought a new set of lip seals and installed ALL new ones. I used the method of waxed paper strips and dixie cups to install the pistons - spent all day yesterday doing this and I'm 99.9% sure the lip seals aren't damaged. What could be causing the slight hissing? This time around I used axle grease to lubricate the seals, instead of Vaseline.
Is this hissing normal? Maybe there is supposed to be some bleed off when the forward clutches are applied? Any help is appreciated. I'm a total novice at trannies

You have to hold your finger over the blled hole to accurately check. Listen for the his and block the port. Scared me the first time it happened.
