Engine: vortec 305 for now
Transmission: 5 speed
1. the bellhousing is different
2. I've heard rumors that some thirdgens had 2 piece shafts, I've never seen one, and If so, were probably limited to the I4 engine. Except for maybe the yoke, it should interchange. (My alum shaft is out of an auto 4th gen, my car is a T5 3rd gen).
3. i'm saying no on the flywheel becuae I don't think they're the same . but more importantly, the 305HO unit is a lightweight wheel and is very desirable.
The way I've done these swaps before is to find a v-8, t5 car, and then just rip everything out of it, pedals, bell housing crossmember shaft, backup light, everything.
