Need help installing TCI torque converter

I'm having a difficult time getting my new TCI torque converter on to my new 700R4.....the problem is getting the two teeth thingys to line up so it will go in alll the way. I've rotated the t/c while pushing, tried to line it up as best i can, searched through TGO, etc., and it still will not go in all the way. I can get the torque converter (stock) that came with the transmission on fine, no problems at all, but the TCI refuses to go on it! Any tricks, tips, or advice? I've triple-checked the splines both on the input shaft and in both of the torque converters, and they all are 27, so i know its the right one for my transmission, not a 30 spline, so what can this be? How can i get this damn thing on? Thanks,
-Chris

Shuld be able to put it on with minimal pressure and spin engaging everything it needs.

Try to take some measurements of both snouts and see if you can detect anything different between the two.

Call TCI and ask for them to send you a new one.

What I typically do is line up the pump rotor so the two tabs are at the 12 and 6 o'clock positions. Then I take the coverter and install it so all I have to is line the openings in the converter neck at the same 12 and 6 position. Sometimes the aftermarket converters are a little tighter on the input shaft then the factory converters are so I will push it on as far as I can and then give it a tap with a board and a hammer and it slides right on.

I have never done the spin the converter to engage it thing though I hear alot of people swear by it and tell their neighbors, kids, peers, baggers at the grocery store, etc
