T5 shifter V6 vs V8

Quick question here guys...

Are the shifters from a V6 T5 and the V8 T5 the same (ie interchangeable)?

Thanks

Steve

Yes they will interchange.

But WHY?

Who in his right mind would take out one stock shifter and put back in another one? Those things suck. In fact, that was THE VERY FIRST MOD I did to my 83 car; I don't think I had had it for more than a month, before I swapped in a Hurst shifter. It made an absolutely amazing difference. Before, it felt like there was a bowl of oatmeal somewhere in the middle of it; afterwards, it felt like a solid piece of something. Before, it went from skinning my knuckles on the dash going to 3rd, to the handle was literally behind me in 4th; after, I could rest my elbow on the console lid, and get from any gear to any other with little more than a flick of the wrist.

Question wasn't meant to indicate that I was replacing a stock shifter with another stock shifter. The reason I was asking was because if you look at the aftermarket, no company that I am aware of makes a distinction between V6 and V8 T5 shifters.

Right.... there's no need for them to do so.
