Clutch for T5

What is the best clutch I can go with for a street driven T5? I was looking at the Centreforce Dual Friction set up, is there anything better than that?

I started out with a RAM Kevlar, which is great for non-street driving. Terrible stop light to stop light. Chattered so much it would readjust my rear view mirror, and when I called RAM about it they want $300 to "rebuild" it for the street. NOT!!!!

I just put in a CFDF and absolutely love it. Light pedal pressure, no chattering, but haven't stressed it yet (still breaking it in). And I'm dying to see how my "new" Ford 9" 4.11 feels, too!!!!

Awesome, that sounds like what I am looking for. I want something beefy but not a full out race clutch. Thanks for the input.

I had the CFDF as well in my 86 Trans Am and it was pretty decent. I am thinking about trying the SPEC Stage 2 clutch setup when my stock style clutch in my Formula runs out.

What is the rating on the stage 2s?? I know the CFDF says it holds 90% over stock.

It doesn't say how much over stock, but even the stage 1 is pretty stout.
Thunderracing.com
Star Performance Clutches are available in 5 different stages.

Stage 1 - A Stage 1 clutch is a great upgrade from stock for street use and will hold 400 horsepower. Stage 1 clutches include a metal backed / organic faced disk.

Stage 2 - Stage 2 clutches are recommended for mildly upgraded vehicles with a power adder. A segmented Kevlar disk is used on the Stage 2 clutch kits.

Stage 3 - Stage 3 clutches come with a sprung center disk with pads. The disk pads are a carbon/ceramic combination, rated to 680 horsepower. The ULTIMATE STREET/STRIP CLUTCH! Sharp but smooth engagement with light pedal.

Stage 4 - Stage 4 clutches are not recommended for street use due to their aggressive nature. A rigid disk and carrier are used in combination with your choice of Kevlar, carbon or ceramic pads.

Stage 5 - Stage 5 clutch kits contain high-clamp load pressure plate, iron disc, bearings and a tool. Extremely aggressive.

I too had to order the TO bearing seperately for my CFDF. It was approx $25.
