sorry

im pretty sure that will not work if it is indeed of a 2.8,31. etc those have a 60 degree belhousing which will not fit a sbc with a standard 90 degree plus v6 t5 have only 10 splines on the input shaft i believe

but someone else might know differently

when looking at the input shaft, it appears to have more than 10-14 splines! also the shifter looks similar too. and if i use a v-8 bellhousing on that gearbox, would it then work?

no. You need a T5 from a V8 Fbody.
