Small crack on tranny, what can I use to patch it ?
Something must have come up up and hit my tranny. Now I have a very small leak on the case, so small you can't see the crack but, after a minute fluid will start to seep through and I mean just seep. Anybody use something that will stop this ? Yeah replacement is best but want to stop leak now.
Thnx,
Thnx,
jb weld ... epoxy ... quick steel ... none of them will work as long as there is contamination (trans fluid) but you might try rubbing it with a bar of soap then wipe it clean and use one of the above ... ive never used soap on a tranny but i have used it on a fuel tank leak to get through a couple more races ... either way its just tempoary ... good luck ... tao

i'd suggest draining it, then spraying it with brake-kleen or something like that and wiping it until it's über clean, then use a 2 part epoxy and "paint" it on. Should hold...
