early 3550 swap question
i have an early 3550 converted for a gm application with a gm 26 spline input shaft that was for a 70 chevelle...my T5 is on its way out so i wanted to swap the tranny in place of my T5...my question is what bellhousing can i use..i know lakewood makes a bellhousing for the 3550 but it is for a mechanical clutch setup which i don't have...im curious if the 84-92 bellhousing has the straight bolt pattern so it would bolt right up or am i going to have to convert to a mechanical clutch? if so where would i find the mechanical clutch linkage? i called fortes a few times as that is where the transmission was purchased but have alot of trouble with getting called back or email response...
