T-10 hurst shifter, loosening periodically

I have the T-10 with some sort of hurst shifter in it. There are 2 3/8" fine thread bolts holding the shifter shaft onto the... other part...?
Anyway, those two bolts work themselves loose quite often, probably around 2000kms and I need to retighten them... I had put some standard lock washers on them, but they still re-loosened....
Is this common? Is there a better method to keep them in there? Safety wire? blue thread sealer? I don't want it to be a total pain to remove, if I ever have to remove it, that's why I didn't just throw some red thread sealer in and be done with it...

Thanks -J

this happened with my t-5 hurst shifter. the bottom bolt completely fell out on me on the highway, as you can imagine, it wasn't much fun. i just used lock-tite on the bolts and they haven't moved since.
