Does anyone use this shifter? How is it? How was the install? How did you modify your console for it?
Thanks

I use it but I don't have a console. It's a nice shifter. The handle stays in the same position no matter where the selector is. Even in park, the handle is still in the middle. It takes 2 ratchets to move to and from park because of how GM has a long detent in thier trannies for park. So from going from park to drive, you ratchet back 4 times. The shifter will work with 2, 3 and 4 speed trannies. There's a stop pin that you position in the shifter so it will only ratchet so many times for each tranny.
It doesn't take much to flick the little red lock arm with your thumb to move the shifter from neutral to reverse. Once pulled into gear you either pull it back or push it forward one at a time for each gear.
I got rid of the ball and installed a Tee handle with a button to use with a line lock.

Yeah, I've read everything on this site and on summit and B&M's website about it, sounds like a nice shifter (which is why i'm interested :-))
I love the pistol grip look, but dunno how it would look on this shifter.
Also, my car wont be a real "Show" car, I prefer the "race" look, but at the same time want something nice and neat and comfortable. I've thought about going without a center console, just having the carpet over it and the shifter, but i'm not sure if that would be going TOO far away from looking nice and neat to just being all-out racey, and i dunno how comfortable it would be, as I tend to rest my arm on the armrest/shifter when just driving around.
Do you have pics of your interior and the shifter?
I've also thought about maybe trying to LOWER the stock console a few inches so that the shifter would be level with it, but i'm not sure about that. Thanks,
-Chris

LOL, you dont know how much I'd love to have a stripped car so I can get some better numbers on the track
Taylor (DRR boards) ran my car this weekend to get his feet wet since his car wont be done for awhile and I offered to let him use mine to stay in points. He ran it a few years ago for a gamblers, but was pretty impressed this weekend (got rained out before 2nd round on Sat) his lights were every bit as good as mine once we dialed it in and ran pretty consistently considering the air. Told me he screwed up, shoulda never bought a rail and just ordered a red firebird with full interior and stereo system LOL!!
We got out there yesterday, cold wind blowing 15-20mph cloudy. Then it started snowing. while later sun was shining and warmed up 12*, 20-30minutes after than cloudy and snow again. then sunny, then rain. then sunny and in came pea sized hail for about 15minutes. then sunny and finally the rain that washed out the track beyond dry time. 45minutes after they called it, sun shined bright rest of the day/evening and temps went back up into the mid 50's Saturday was as crazy as I have EVER seen-never had every type of weather imaginable in 6 hours time. DA would be 200' go upto 750' then back to 200 ft all within minutes or while we were standing there watching the weather station-dials were anybodies guess.
