My uncle bought a LT-1 out of a '95 Corvette for an engine swap for his '95 ZR2 S10... when the crate arrived it still had the trans hooked to it.
Sounds like he's pretty much willing to give it to me cuz he still wants his 4x4...
My question is, what would i need to make it work? he said something like it has electronic shift... i dont know if he means it's computer controlled or what...he's kinda hard to get ahold of, thats why details are limited. has anyone ever used a vette trans b4 (other than in a vette) especially one this new??
ANY info on parts i'd need for the swap and prices would be awesome, thanks.

 

Yes it is electronically shifted. Yes you need the right computer to work it. It will not shift unless told to do so electronically. It will go to 3rd gear and stay there whenever the gear selector is in any forward gear.

Just being "from a Vette" doesn't make it very much different from any other transmission. A few minor details, that's all. No magic wafted out of the fiberglass and mystically infested the transmission.

So, no, it's not really applicable to one of these cars, as it sits.
