Tranny/Engine swapping
Tranny/Engine swapping
I'm in the middle of swapping around some engines...not exactly a third gen, but you'll see. I need a little help.
First, in an 82 Blazer, I'm putting in a 68 327 with a v6 t-5. I did a little reading, and it looked like I need a flywheel from an 84 camaro with a 305, is this right?
Next, into my 72 gmc pickup, I'm putting in a 89 Camaro L98 along with a 700r4 from an 86 astro (I think that's what year it was???). I got the right flexplate for that, along with the torque converter (may change that later, but not now). Anyways, I didn't get the wiring connectors for it. I ordered a 4 pin connector for it (the lockup connector) along with the correct brake switch. I need a wiring diagram for the torque converter lockup connector though.
Also, I don't know what direction I need to go with the speedometer and vss. I understand that the computer needs a vss signal. I currently am running a 5" Autometer Ultralight mechanical speedo, and really don't want to shell out the $200 for an electric one. What are my options for the speed to work and get the correct signal to the computer.
By the way, I'm using a painless performance wiring harness for this.
Thanks for the help
