A/C Condensor Tranny Cooler

Okay First off I did a search and came back with no good information.

Has anyone actually gone through with this, and are the results good. Everyone talks about it but it looks like no one has done it.

Some say it will make the engine run hotter because it will cool the tranny fluid and by time the air gets to the rad it is hot.

Lastly will the condensor take the pressure. Also will it effect the line pressure because of it's size.

I am running a derale tranny cooler but the shifts still get soft after about 10 minutes of driving. I the I could ude the A/C condensor then I think the bigger surface area would eliminate this problem and increase the longivity of the transmission.

Thanks

my brother has a '78 T/A with a 462 BBC and a TH400. The a/c hasn't worked in the car since he got it, and its mostly a weekend cruiser anyway, so he used the condenser as a tranny cooler. It's worked perfectly since the day he did it, never had problems with it overheating, and nice firm shifts all day long.

Thanks for the responce. Just a question did it effect the temperature the engine ran at since the condenser would heat the passing air up.

not a bit. with a good radiator and correctly functioning cooling system, you should see no increase in engine temperature
