T5: wierd clutch clicking noise

When I clutch in my T5 car there is a wierd click at the end of the pedal motion right before it hits the firewall. I know the previous owner rebuilt the clutch himself. Is anyone familiar with this or know what it could be?

Maybe it's the neutral safety switch clicking?

bringing this back up because I have the same "problem"

I have had the car on a hoist with someone sitting int he driver's seat pushing in the clutch. The noise appears to come from inside the bellhousing in the clutch fork/T.O. Bearing area.

Any ideas what would click in there?

I had the same problem at one point, and changing out the clutch fork and throw out bearing eliminated it.....
