Argh! I blew up my Slave!
Ok, I have done a T5 swap into my camaro it has a Centerforce clutch. The hydraulics i got with the trans were used and shot so I get a new setup from GM and hooked it all up. then i pushed the pedal down and hit a very hard spot..... me not know what the hell i was doing pushed hard and POP! goes the slave cylinder. I have a new aftermarket cylinder from autozone and I am going to hook it up and bleed it today. There must be another problem tho if a brand new setup would just blow up like that. I have no idea what I am doing, I had a friend help with seting the t/o bearing, fork, pressure plate and clutch... I think its setup right. The way I figure is... either the rod for the slave is meeting too much resistance and poping or its traveling its full distance, meeting no resistance and blowing out the end. When I put the new one on im going to be more carefull and take some measurements of how far its moving. Untill then, I am at work and it would be great if i could get some input/ ideas sugestions or theories.

My slave blew also, although mine was the Autozone aluminum slave cylinder. I think it blew at the o-ring in the slave. I'm going to replace the o-ring and see if that fixes it. Otherwise I'm going to swap it out under warranty.
It's a mystery.
(My situation is a bit different - mine is on a Lakewood bellhousing actuating a Hays HD pressure plate & the trans is a Doug Nash 4+1... all in a '80 El Camino)
Do the "drill mod" if you have the steel braided '93 up style hydraulic line.

My problem turned out to be a burned spot on the braided line going from the master to the slave. I guess it was touching the header. Now to try to replace that line... (I could buy the whole assembly from GM but my slave is new - and its aluminum to resist the header heat).
